Site Maintenance Officers are responsible for keeping our care homes safe and well maintained so that Residents can enjoy a home from home experience. Their role extends to maintaining the interior and outside space that Residents enjoy; we separately employ regular contractors who maintain lawns and borders. Food and nutrition represent an important part of a Residents care; lead by our Chef or Head Cook our catering teams ensure we deliver balanced and nutritious meals to meet the needs of elderly people. All meals are cooked on site in our own commercial standard kitchens.

There are more than 700 recipes in the HC-One cookbook and we’re updating this all the time. Our Taste and Try sessions are very popular with our Residents and they’ll often ask us to recreate a favourite classic dish. This can trigger a lively conversation and all kinds of memories, discussions and laughter.

Valley View Health and Rehabilitation, LLC offers a wonderful alternative to a traditional long-term care and rehabilitation facility. Physical Therapy– For those recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or simply a decline in physical strength and ability. Our physical therapists work with residents to improve strength, endurance, range of motion, and activities of daily living. We are really lucky to have the V&A Museum nearby, whose staff kindly bring along memory boxes for reminiscence sessions. We also take advantage of the service provided by the local library, which regularly refreshes our titles. These are also available in large print for our people with sight difficulties.
Daily life is carefully designed to support mind, body and soul. As of the last update they had a daily average of 75.7 residents compared to the LA average of 83.03 and a National average of 86.4. We strive to care for your loved one just as we care for our own.
Our Family Caring For Your's
We use fresh ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible, with the emphasis on providing delicious seasonal meals. We understand the nutritional needs of older people and create meals that offer the correct calorific and nutritional content. We consider meals to be a fundamental part of every Resident’s care plan. The home’s caring team has created a family atmosphere, encouraging everyone to eat and celebrate special occasions together. Residents are invited to decorate their rooms with small items of their own furniture and treasured belongings so that it feels just like home.
In each of our Nursing Care Homes we employ registered nurses to deliver professional nursing care to Residents with complex nursing needs. In our larger Care Homes the Care Home Manager is support by a Unit Manager or Head of Care; the type of person in this role will have significant experience and expertise in leading nursing and care teams. Within each of our care homes the Care Home Manager leads a team of care and support Colleagues with skills and experience relevant to their respective discipline. Considering a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility can be a confusing process. Excellent nursing care doesn’t happen by chance; it grows from deep understanding, compassion, and professionalism.

Visit our Paying for Care page for information on how to pay for care at Bridge View House Care Home. Our 2022 weekly room fee starts from £1,185 but may be in the region of 20% more. This depends on the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms to our premium bedroom options.
Our virtual tours are normally via FaceTime or Skype and are a great way to view many parts of our homes. Other popular visitors include Duke of Edinburgh students from a high school in Dundee, who visit our nursing home every week. Representatives from the Church of Scotland and local Roman Catholic Church also carry out services for us at Bridge View House.
If you need to get through to a loved one or our care home teams and you are unsuccessful, we would encourage you to try again at another time as the issues are intermittent. The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care. Riverside’s Home Manager makes sure that all Residents receive the kindest possible care.
Some of our residents love to get out and about and there are some real gems to visit nearby, including the University of Dundee Botanic Garden, the V&A Museum and Camperdown Wildlife Centre, with its brown bears and reptiles. There is a monthly ‘Walking with Dementia’ event which takes place at Camperdown, which many of our residents take part in. Magdalen Green is Dundee’s oldest city park, with a bandstand dating back to 1890. Our residents have the prime spot for watching events which take place in the summer, from the comfort of their nursing home. From folk music festivals and army and fire brigade demonstrations to cultural community events, this is a thriving area.
