Tim and Jill become concerned when Brad pays more attention to his first part-time job than his school work. Brad passes his driver's test and gets his license. He gets to drive the car that night, and Jill obsesses over what could happen. Brad has an accident, but tells his parents he hit a pole instead of the back of a car.
Tim runs into his high school girlfriend, Stacey Lewis. When she meets Jill, Jill is upset when she finds out Tim never told Stacey that they were through. Jill is going to work and hasn't got time to look after the house. Jill was supposed to make a gingerbread house for the school PTA meeting but as she doesn't have time, Tim says he'll do it. Everything goes well when Mark uses karate to save Randy from a bully, until the school newspaper gets hold of it.

Brad has punched a boy in school who called him names after hugging his Dad. Jill watches a Tool Time on tape and sees Tim checking out a woman's behind. Tim is then accused of having the wandering male eye with no control. Tim guarantees he's not going to "check out babes" while on dinner with Jill. Then he is approached in the restaurant by an ardent fan, Kiki Van Fursterwallenscheinlaw... Jill makes Tim act like an equal partner once she finds that Brad's girlfriend does whatever he tell her to.
While there, Jill tries to tell her Mom and her sisters that she's okay, but they think she's sick and is putting a brave ... Jill wants to spend quality time with the family, but the guys take her to the hardware expo. This is the first season to feature Tim Allen as executive producer. The percentage of approved Tomatometer critics who have given this title a positive review. When individual episodes have scores, they will influence the final season score. Tim is in seventh heaven at the expo, and Jill has plans to spend quality time with the boys while sight-seeing.

He often goes to his neighbor, Wilson, who is known to give very profound and helpful advice. Wilson is always found in the backyard behind Tim's fence. A34731.5Bob Vila re-appears on Tool Time and challenges Tim to a lawnmower race for charity. Determined to beat Vila once and for all, Tim inserts a jet engine from a helicopter into the lawnmower. Meanwhile, Brad and Randy create "The Tadpole Secrecy Test" for Mark, who wants them to play with him.

Wilson's cousins, the Beach Boys, come to visit. A37325.6After Bob Vila raises more money than Tim for Jill's library fundraiser, Tim challenges him to a race... In his unfinished hot rod against Bob's 1934 Roadster.
She tells him he cannot drive it, but of course, Tim does with the typical consequences. "Tool Time" visits the USS Constellation for a "Salute to Engines"; Jill catches Brad making out with his girlfriend. He's trying hard to get rid of it, but Mark has been feeding it and named it Pete. When Brad flunks in math Randy suggests that he tell Jill that Jennifer left him and he's depressed because of it. This works, until Jennifer turns up and Jill learns the truth.

Jill asks Tim to set an example of men not using women as servants. While shopping in the mall, Mark uses karate to stop a bully from beating Randy. The incident is written in the school newspaper. Randy is embarrassed, and punches the boy who wrote the story.
When Brad gets a new job at a sporting goods store, he gets so excited over a perceived career possibility that he neglects his academic work. Brad and Randy begin with a head in the microwave, Tim and Jill follow up with actor playing a mysterious visitor. Brad and Randy find out and pretend to be frightened, causing Tim and Jill to worry. Jill purchases a 1967 Austin Healey with some inheritance money; Tim is upset she purchased it without him.
Tim throws a bachelor party for Al, and everyone tells negative tales of marriages. Al starts to doubt his decision to marry Ilene. The day of the wedding, Ilene starts to doubt her decision to marry Al. Swedish buyers are interested in broadcasting Tool Time in Sweden, so they visit the set to watch the show. The show has many mistakes and boring segments. The Swedes decide to buy it, thinking it is slap-stick comedy.
Jill's wild sisters visit to plan their parents' 50th anniversary. Jill buys a foreign sports car with money from an inheritance and forbids Tim to drive it. When Al is the producer of a video, he selects Tim to direct, until Tim gets too bossy. Jill protests the inequality between Brad and his girlfriend, who's doing his laundry and cleaning his room. Jill's sisters, who are neurotic, arrive to plan their parents' anniversary party. In a battle of Halloween pranks, Brad and Randy score first, then thwart Tim and Jill's retaliatory effort.
Tim reveals to Al that he is going to put the 350 Chevy engine in his hot rod. Tim thought Al would be spending the weekend with Greta (last seen in season 1 episode 21, "Al's Fair in Love and War"). Karen has broken up with Greg and is visiting Jill. When Tim tells that Dave Gibbons is coming, Jill wants to introduce him to Karen. Tim can see what Jill has in mind and protests - he needs Dave in the garage. After completing a hectic quarter in college and is on break, Jill gets a call from her Father, The Colonel that he will be paying a visit.
Brad and Randy's voices are deeper in this season due to Zachary Ty Bryan and Jonathan Taylor Thomas going through puberty. Tim and Jill have three sons Brad, Randy and Mark. Each son has their own quirks, Brad is into sports, Randy is smart, and Mark is the younger sensitive brother. As said before, Tim often causes mayhem around with machines as well as his marriage.
