Brad has an accident on his first night out with his driver's license---but it's more serious than what he tells his parents. Brad throws himself into his new job at a sporting-goods store, but Jill and Tim worry that it's becoming his top priority. Randy insists that his new girlfriend is not a "girlfriend". But he's not thrilled when she goes out with someone else. Brad gets his first job at sporting good store.
Tim and Jill have to teach Brad and they find out that multiplying compound fractions is not as ... Jill takes a compatibility test that shows that she and Tim are not compatible. Randy gets a chance to do a ventriloquist act, but his lips keep moving while he's practicing. Tim wants Jill to throw out some of her clothes or he will remodel the closet.

Wilson's cousins, the Beach Boys, come to visit. A37325.6After Bob Vila raises more money than Tim for Jill's library fundraiser, Tim challenges him to a race... In his unfinished hot rod against Bob's 1934 Roadster.
Jill then avoids a speeding ticket by flirting with the policeman. This brings on humorous discussions on the issue of flirting - is it right or wrong? Jill struggles with flirting in order to get job but eventually she does the right thing.

I watch this every Friday night with my kids and they love it. Lisa, the old Tool Time girl, returns and Tim gives her back her old job without consulting Heidi, the current Tool Time girl. Meanwhile Randy and Lauren take their relationship to a new level when they finally go on their first official date. Jill's worst fears come true when she predicts something bad will happen on the night Brad is first driving. He gets into a small accident but little do they know the accident is a lot more serious than he admits. Wilson decides to act more like others after a newspaper critic gives his performance a bad review, saying that he's "out of touch with reality".
However, the boys want to pursue their own interests with people their age. Jill and her sisters get together to plan on their parents' 50th wedding anniversary, but there's one problem; they can't stop bickering. Tim tells her that she needs to lay down the law to put a stop to it.

Jill finds Brad making out with his girlfriend in his room. When Jill asks Tim to have a man-to-man talk with Brad, Tim is a little reluctant to do it. Not because he doesn't feel Brad needs it, but because it's something he's never done before with a kid. A visit from original---and beloved---"Tool Time" girl Lisa has Heidi feeling threatened; Randy and Lauren go on a date. Jill's father passes away the day after she fibs that she's ill in order to postpone his visit. And the lie lingers when she arrives back home for the funeral.
Jill is invited to her Psychology Dept Potluck Dinner, but banned from taking food. Randy likes a girl at school but a friend of Brad's asks her out. On Tool Time, a woman who knows more than Tim about cars is a guest. Tim decorates his house in typical "more power" fashion. Brad and Randy collect money for charity but decide to keep a portion of the money for themselves.

Jill & Tim find out, and tell them they have to return the money to charity. Tim lifts a heavy load of books after Jill tells him not to and pulls a groin muscle. Also, Randy has the lead in the Peter Pan show at school, but there is no apparatus to help him fly; Tim builds one. It is wholesome without being corny (I'm looking at you, Full House).

Tim is also found to be the accident prone and often wanting to rewire and fix things around the house and at work. Jill Taylor is Tim's loving wife, but continually gives him grief over some of the trouble he causes. Brad gets a new job and starts idolizing his rich boss and commits himself to his work at the cost of his schooling. Tim and Jill become very frustrated dealing with him.
Tim is really excited to see his son make a paycheck for himself. Things get a bit out of control when Brad puts his job over his schooling. The season introduces the Taylors, the average American family, that really aren't so. Tim Taylor, the man of the house, has his own TV show entitled "Tool Time" with a bachelor co-host Al Borland.
Brad has punched a boy in school who called him names after hugging his Dad. Jill watches a Tool Time on tape and sees Tim checking out a woman's behind. Tim is then accused of having the wandering male eye with no control. Tim guarantees he's not going to "check out babes" while on dinner with Jill. Then he is approached in the restaurant by an ardent fan, Kiki Van Fursterwallenscheinlaw... Jill makes Tim act like an equal partner once she finds that Brad's girlfriend does whatever he tell her to.
He often goes to his neighbor, Wilson, who is known to give very profound and helpful advice. Wilson is always found in the backyard behind Tim's fence. A34731.5Bob Vila re-appears on Tool Time and challenges Tim to a lawnmower race for charity. Determined to beat Vila once and for all, Tim inserts a jet engine from a helicopter into the lawnmower. Meanwhile, Brad and Randy create "The Tadpole Secrecy Test" for Mark, who wants them to play with him.
